Prof Dr Stefan Wengler studied business administration and economics at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität in Würzburg, the University of Texas at Austin, Texas (USA) and the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. He completed his doctorate at the Free University of Berlin on the topic of “Economic Value of Key Account Management” under Prof Dr Michael Kleinaltenkamp, during which time he also conducted research on the topics of “eLearning” and “Entrepreneurship”. In the private sector, he worked as a management consultant in the areas of digitalisation & process analysis, marketing & sales and in sports marketing as well as in sales management and sales coordination for a service company operating throughout Europe.
Since 2009, he has been a professor at Hof University of Applied Sciences for general business administration, in particular marketing, and was head of the MBA programme “German Indian Management Studies” from 2010-2016 and international representative of Faculty W from 2015-2020. Since 2019, he has headed the research group “Empirical Research and User Experience” (ERUX) at the Institute for Information Systems (iisys) at Hof University of Applied Sciences together with his colleague Prof. Dr. Riedl.
His research currently focuses on the user- and customer-centred design of digital systems and digital transformation in sales in business-to-business markets.
