Research Team Leader
Prof. Dr. Jörg Scheidt studied physics at the University of Mainz. He has been employed with Hof University since 2002. Since 2009 he has been heading the research group ‘Analytical Information Systems’ at the Institute of Information Systems (iisys). His research includes the automatic analysis of mass data. When he was working for CERN, this evaluation concerned the measurement data of elementary particle physics acquired through experiments; today this concerns text data of the Web 2.0. He is particularly interested in opinion mining, i. e. the automatic extraction of opinions expressed on the Internet. Furthermore, he is interested in the extraction and evaluation of data in the field of medicine. In his free time he likes playing chess, listening to music and cooking and, of course, eating.
